HAMILTON - Joan Sheets, 81, of Hamilton passed away Monday, April 1, 2024 at the Discovery Care Centre in Hamilton from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born Joan Marie Simenson in Wild Rose, WI in 1942 to the late Leonard and Beatrice Simenson of Wautoma, WI.
Joan is survived by husband Ralph Haverkorn; daughters, Stephanie Mason, Rexanna Luebbert, and Chenoa Smith; grandchildren, Allan Luebbert, Melissa Luebbert, Oswaldo Velasco Perez, Emelyne & Quinn Jenson, Douglas Mason and Jessica Williams; and great-grandchildren, Norah and Ryker Jenson, Lorenzo and Adrian Velasco-Luebbert, and Cadyn & Zadie Williams.
Joan grew up on a dairy farm in Wautoma Wisconsin. She moved to Montana with her first husband who died shortly after from an accidental shooting. She decided to stay and married Jerald Smith. Joan was a hard working woman with a good heart. She enjoyed the beautiful Bitterroot valley and her farm. When Joan wasn’t out horseback riding with her friends, she could be found in her garden or sewing quilts. After Joan & Jerry divorced, she married Karl Sheets a few years later Joan started raising sheep and enjoyed having her grandchildren around and teaching them about raising sheep.
Joan will be greatly missed. There will be a memorial service at the Corvallis Grange on Saturday, April 27,2024 at 11a.m. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
